Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tiko Gardeau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tiko Gardeau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jose Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanchez has a takedown stuffed. Sanchez tries to keep at a distance but Gardeau has taken the fight into the clinch. Gardeau manages to pull guard.

Sanchez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gardeau manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sanchez has Gardeau in his guard. Sanchez working a defensive guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gardeau accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sanchez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gardeau is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sanchez has managed to free his arm - good work. Sanchez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gardeau scores with a couple of nice shots. Sanchez wants to sweep but Gardeau has passed to side control! Gardeau misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Sanchez parries the strikes from Gardeau easily there. Gardeau is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Sanchez to escape.
Sanchez throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Gardeau connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sanchez some visible discomfort.
Gardeau works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Gardeau has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Sanchez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Sanchez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gardeau. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gardeau is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sanchez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Gardeau is looking to take a break and control but Sanchez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sanchez can't do much from the bottom here. Gardeau misses with a takedown attempt so Sanchez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gardeau has a closed guard, preventing Sanchez from standing up. Gardeau is controlling Sanchez's posture. Sanchez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gardeau works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gardeau keeping moving, preventing Sanchez from controlling successfully. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gardeau is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Sanchez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Gardeau has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sanchez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Good body shot from Sanchez.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gardeau is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Sanchez is working for takedown but Gardeau is calmly controlling the position for now. Sanchez gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sanchez in particular looking to stall. Despite being in the dominant position, Jose Sanchez just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gardeau scores with a nice takedown into half guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gardeau connects with a nice short shot to Sanchez's temple. Gardeau is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Sanchez to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Sanchez has Gardeau pulled in close to control his posture. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sanchez is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Sanchez wants to sweep here but Gardeau controlling him for the moment. Gardeau is looking to work some ground and pound but Sanchez has wrist control.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gardeau shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Sanchez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gardeau! Sanchez landing punches. Gardeau blocking the ground and pound. Sanchez wants to control the pace but Gardeau is squirming around nicely. Gardeau suckers Sanchez into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Gardeau is now in Sanchez's guard!
