Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fausto Carmelon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Fausto Carmelon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Fausto Carmelon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Georges Pierre! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pierre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Carmelon shoots in but no luck this time. Carmelon misses with a takedown and Pierre moves into the clinch. Pierre is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Carmelon tries to pull guard but Pierre holds him up against the ropes and eventually Carmelon drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fausto Carmelon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Carmelon is trying to break the clinch but Pierre is controlling him. Carmelon is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Pierre gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Pierre gets control of Carmelon's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pierre will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Pierre keeping moving, preventing Carmelon from controlling successfully. Carmelon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Pierre pulls Carmelon in to control the position. Pierre working for a triangle but Carmelon defends it easily.

Carmelon with a lazy takedown attempt and Pierre counters with a big head kick but Carmelon shrugs it off. Carmelon shoots in but no luck this time. Pierre leaves Carmelon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nice takedown defense from Pierre. No joy for Carmelon on that attempt. Carmelon doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pierre counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Carmelon's guard now. Carmelon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Pierre working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carmelon is working an open guard so Pierre takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Carmelon darts in trying to clinch and Pierre counters with a takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pierre working away. Pierre is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Carmelon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pierre creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Carmelon sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Pierre wants to control but Carmelon is keeping him busy. Carmelon wants to control but Pierre postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pierre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Carmelon, who protects the arm well. Pierre looks gassed! Carmelon defending against the ground and pound.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carmelon with a poor takedown and Pierre counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Pierre stops Carmelon from getting back to his feet.
Pierre thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Carmelon wants to get back to full guard. Pierre wants to stand up but Carmelon has a hold of him and won't allow it. Carmelon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carmelon has his hands clasped together around Pierre's back. He's all about the action. Carmelon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pierre is working away from the top position though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Carmelon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pierre can't do much from the bottom here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pierre pushes Carmelon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Carmelon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Pierre is not content to let Carmelon control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Georges Pierre dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Carmelon. Pierre tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pierre closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Carmelon to the mat! Carmelon manages to get full guard. Carmelon is trying to control the position but Pierre postures up. Carmelon wants to sweep but no luck. Pierre postures up in Carmelon's guard and throws a big left but Carmelon blocks it. Pierre wants to control from the top but Carmelon keeps moving. Pierre won't allow Carmelon to get back to his feet. Georges Pierre has got the better of the ground game so far. Carmelon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Pierre is breathing heavily. Carmelon trying to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Carmelon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pierre sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Carmelon looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Pierre! Carmelon trying to control but Pierre is having none of it. Pierre is working to get back to half guard.

Pierre pushes Carmelon against the ropes but Carmelon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Carmelon shoots for a takedown but Pierre saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Fausto Carmelon will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Carmelon tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Pierre counters with a head kick. Carmelon closes the distance looking to clinch so Pierre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Carmelon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Pierre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carmelon's guard. Carmelon keeping moving, preventing Pierre from controlling successfully. Pierre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carmelon works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pierre won't allow Carmelon to sweep him here. Pierre trying to control the position from guard on top but Carmelon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Carmelon trying to keep a closed guard but Pierre is proving a slippery customer.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pierre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Carmelon wants to sweep but no luck. Carmelon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carmelon tries to clinch but Pierre moves out of range. Carmelon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pierre sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Carmelon somewhat. Pierre avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Georges Pierre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
