Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Rapol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Rapol is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Rapol! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rapol's waist but Rapol gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side. Rapol closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Rapol happy to just control the position for now. Rapol really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rapol's best efforts. Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Rapol throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rapol looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Johnson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rapol. Rapol is pressing down on Johnson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Johnson is holding on for now.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnson dodges the punch combination from Rapol.
Johnson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Rapol looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Johnson keeping full guard, as Rapol tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson looking for a triangle here. Rapol is fighting it but it looks tight! Johnson pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Rapol is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Kevin Johnson!
