Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kuunojuhani Laavalahti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Gorzenski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Gorzenski!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorzenski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Laavalahti defends it nicely.
Gorzenski misses with a kick to the body.
Laavalahti showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gorzenski.
Gorzenski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Laavalahti pinned against the cage. Laavalahti gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Laavalahti stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Laavalahti wants it to stay on the feet.
Kuunojuhani Laavalahti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Gorzenski.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gorzenski moves in looking to clinch but Laavalahti pushes him off.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Laavalahti sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Laavalahti holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Laavalahti is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Laavalahti feints and as Gorzenski raises his hands in defense, Laavalahti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Laavalahti seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Laavalahti sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gorzenski's guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Laavalahti wants to free his trapped foot but Gorzenski is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Laavalahti looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Laavalahti is taking a breather. Gorzenski says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gorzenski wants to control but Laavalahti is keeping busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Laavalahti has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kuunojuhani Laavalahti just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Gorzenski misses with a takedown

and Laavalahti counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Laavalahti is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gorzenski sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Laavalahti is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Laavalahti seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Gorzenski for as long as he can get away with.

Well Laavalahti has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
