Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between yoshi sokarba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colt Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cannon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Cannon decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Cannon rushes sokarba and presses him up against the cage.
Cannon lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Cannon effectively controlling the action here.
Still in the clinch, Cannon scores with a nice short uppercut.

Cannon jumps guard.
sokarba stands and throws Cannon's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Cannon throws sokarba to one side and escapes!

Cannon scores with a hook to the body.
sokarba misses with a knee strike.

and Cannon counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Colt Cannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cannon walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

sokarba throws a series of strikes that have Cannon backpedaling.

Cannon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as sokarba works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

sokarba is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The strikes coming from Cannon are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
sokarba is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cannon asserts his dominance and retains side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
sokarba tries to clinch up but Cannon circles away and keeps his distance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cannon gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Cannon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
