Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sonny Jonsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and nathan dowie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
dowie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jonsson tries to avoid it but dowie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jonsson to the ground. Jonsson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

dowie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Jonsson is trying to stand up here but dowie is controlling him well.
dowie trying to control from half guard but Jonsson is working away.
dowie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jonsson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
dowie is stalling here. Jonsson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! dowie seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jonsson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

dowie is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

dowie should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jonsson tries to bench press dowie off him but dowie keeps the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

dowie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
dowie shoots in but Jonsson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

You get the feeling that Jonsson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Jonsson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Jonsson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

dowie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

dowie is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Jonsson is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Jonsson flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. dowie anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Jonsson and secures both hooks! This could be bad! dowie slips an arm under Jonsson chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. dowie has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. dowie is squeezing on Jonsson like an anaconda would it's prey. Jonsson fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
