Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Zullo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Kelso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zullo comes to the cage accompanied by Assistant To The Regional Manager - The Devil Wears Prada. Kelso has chosen That 70's Show Theme Music as his entrance music. Michael Kelso will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Zullo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Kelso!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelso wants to clinch.
Zullo shoots for a takedown but Kelso saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Zullo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kelso as he avoids it easily.
Zullo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kelso is fending him off so far but Zullo persists. Nope, Kelso circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Zullo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kelso tries to clinch but Zullo moves out of range.

Kelso clinches.

Kelso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zullo dodges the punch combination from Kelso.
Zullo shoots in for a takedown but Kelso shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelso is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Zullo swats away the attempt to clinch by Kelso.
Kelso tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Zullo was well out of range. Poor timing from Kelso.

Kelso tries to clinch up.
Zullo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kelso as he jumps to the side.
Zullo circles away from the clinch attempt.

Zullo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kelso's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelso keeping full guard, as Zullo tries to pass.
Kelso is controlling Zullo's posture.
Zullo wants to control from the top but Kelso keeps moving.

Zullo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Zullo won't allow Kelso to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kelso is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kelso wants to stand and escape but Zullo is having none of it.
Kelso pulls Zullo in close to prevent any damage.
Zullo trying to control the position from guard on top but Kelso is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kelso wants to clinch.
Zullo shoots for a takedown but Kelso saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kelso throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Zullo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kelso to the mat! Kelso manages to get full guard.
Zullo being controlled here momentarily.
Kelso manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Zullo working to try and regain half guard.
Kelso looking to finish Zullo with some ground and pound. This is bad for Zullo!
Kelso avoids the attempt from Zullo to control.
Kelso landing strikes from the mount.

Zullo manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Zullo landing small, sideways elbows.
Kelso not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kelso not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Kelso thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zullo's head.
Kelso uses his free foot to push down on Zullo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Zullo.
Kelso looking to control but Zullo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Zullo is looking to improve his position but Kelso isn't that keen on the idea.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kelso throwing strikes here but Zullo is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
BOOM! Kelso connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Kelso dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kelso tries to clinch there but Zullo circles away.
Kelso doesn't manage to clinch there - Zullo circles away.

Michael Kelso is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kelso has Zullo up against the cage in a clinch.
Kelso lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Zullo tries to pull guard but Kelso holds him up against the cage and eventually Zullo drops back down to his feet.

Kelso throws a right hand that Zullo ducks under and follows up with a left that Zullo also avoids with ease.
Zullo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kelso is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zullo.
Kelso is looking to clinch but Zullo is avoiding it.
Kelso misses with the combination.

Kelso pushes Zullo up against the cage in a clinch.
Kelso scores with a shot to the side of Zullo's head.
Kelso throws a punch but it's blocked by Zullo.
A nice right hand lands inside from Kelso.
Kelso lands a hook to the side of the head.

Kelso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kelso connects with a jab.


It looks like Michael Zullo has been cut.
Kelso fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kelso throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Michael Kelso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice shot by Kelso.
Kelso lands with a right that hurts Zullo. Zullo looks to clinch but Kelso throws a short knee that drops Zullo. This one is all over!
