1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rob Schneidmiller! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jmenez takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Schneidmiller shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Schneidmiller showed some decent athleticism there. Jmenez wants to control but Schneidmiller is keeping busy.
Jmenez is looking to get back to is feet but Schneidmiller passes into side control.
Jmenez is trying to control Schneidmiller's posture but Schneidmiller avoids it. Schneidmiller staying calm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schneidmiller trying to control the position but Jmenez is working away. Jmenez looks to move to half guard but instead Schneidmiller has passed into mount! Damn! Jmenez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jmenez tries to get out of the position. Jmenez can't escape the position.

Schneidmiller content just to control the position here. Schneidmiller can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jmenez is looking to escape. Schneidmiller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Jmenez is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jmenez tries to control Schneidmiller's body but Schneidmiller pushes him off. Jmenez squirms to his side and now Schneidmiller has his back! Jmenez wants to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Schneidmiller controls the position from side control.
Despite being in the dominant position, Rob Schneidmiller just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schneidmiller with a lazy takedown attempt and Jmenez counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jmenez content to stall in guard here. Jmenez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jmenez being controlled here momentarily. Jmenez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schneidmiller is controlling Jmenez's posture. Jmenez looking to sit in guard and control but Schneidmiller gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Schneidmiller wants to control from the top but Jmenez keeps moving. Schneidmiller stopping the sweep attempt from Jmenez. Schneidmiller passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Jmenez throwing hammer fists to the chest of Schneidmiller. What's that going to do exactly? Jmenez is just holding on here. Schneidmiller manages to take his back.
Schneidmiller has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Jmenez. Jmenez trying to control but not successfully. Jmenez controlling his opponent's hands, preventing the submission attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rob Schneidmiller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Schneidmiller not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Jmenez working a defensive guard but Schneidmiller manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jmenez is looking to reverse the position. Jmenez struggling a bit here. Schneidmiller is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jmenez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jmenez is looking to reverse the position. Jmenez is working hard here to advance position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nice takedown defense from Jmenez. No joy for Schneidmiller on that attempt. Jmenez throws a combination that misses and Schneidmiller counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Schneidmiller. Preston Jmenez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jmenez is trying to keep Schneidmiller in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Schneidmiller shoots and misses and Jmenez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jmenez controlling the action here. Jmenez is pressing down on Schneidmiller's thigh, looking to free his foot. Schneidmiller is holding on for now. Schneidmiller regains full guard. Nicely done. Schneidmiller is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Schneidmiller pulls Jmenez in close to prevent any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rob Schneidmiller. Well Schneidmiller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
