Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos da Guia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liberato Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Mass Hypnosis. Liberato Silva will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos da Guia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Liberato Silva! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A swing and a miss from da Guia. Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. da Guia tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag da Guia to the ground. da Guia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Silva swinging wilding here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by da Guia. da Guia shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Silva keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. da Guia is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Silva looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. da Guia content to control rather than advance. Silva keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. da Guia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Silva blocking the ground and pound attempt from da Guia. Silva is trying to get back to full guard. da Guia perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Silva wants to sweep but da Guia has passed to side control! Silva tries to bench press da Guia off him but da Guia keeps the position. Silva regains half guard there - taking advantage of da Guia's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. da Guia prevents Silva from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. da Guia moves into the clinch. da Guia blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. da Guia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Silva clinches but da Guia breaks the clinch and da Guia counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that. da Guia seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Silva keeping moving, preventing da Guia from controlling successfully. Silva is trying to keep da Guia in close.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Silva looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! da Guia has picked Silva up and slammed him! Silva can't keep hold of the triangle and da Guia manages to pass to side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos da Guia dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt so da Guia counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. da Guia tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard. da Guia stopping the sweep attempt from Silva. da Guia avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
da Guia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. da Guia has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. da Guia passes Silva's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. da Guia is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Silva! da Guia looking to control and managing it successfully. Silva is looking to improve his position but da Guia isn't that keen on the idea. Silva is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. da Guia tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Silva regains half guard. Silva has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. da Guia is working away from the top position though. Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Silva wants to control but da Guia is keeping busy and won't allow it. da Guia wants to free his trapped foot but Silva is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. da Guia is figuring out what he wants to do next. Silva wants to control but da Guia is keeping busy.
Silva makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Silva with a poor takedown enabling da Guia to counter with a crisp jab. Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Silva closes the distance looking to clinch and da Guia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Silva is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva controls da Guia momentarily but da Guia frees himself. da Guia is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
da Guia trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. da Guia is looking to stand up but Silva won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos da Guia dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

da Guia scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Carlos da Guia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Silva is not content to let da Guia control the position. Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but da Guia pulls his head out easily. Silva wants to improve his position but da Guia is controlling well.
da Guia controlling the action here. da Guia knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. da Guia has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Silva wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. da Guia takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Silva wants to control but da Guia is keeping busy.
Silva is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but da Guia is staying active. Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. da Guia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Silva is not content to let da Guia control the position. Silva struggling a bit here. Carlos da Guia is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Silva tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Silva sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Carlos da Guia showed his dominance in that final round. Well da Guia has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
