Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Garnett Layden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masakazu Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Layden comes into the arena with Atmosphere's Trying To Find A Balance blaring out of the sound system. Aoki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. DaRude - Sandstorm kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Garnett Layden!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masakazu Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Layden tries to bum rush Aoki with a series of wild strikes but Aoki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Layden scores with a one two! Aoki had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Masakazu Aoki has been cut.
Aoki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Layden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Aoki lands a nice forearm strike.
Aoki tries to advance to mount but Layden denies him.
Aoki should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Aoki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Layden keeps working.
Layden tries to escape but Aoki is in control.
Aoki looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Layden is avoiding damage well.
Layden tries to improve position but can't.
Layden stops Aoki from passing to mount.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A head kick misses from Layden.
Layden gets a takedown into half guard.
Aoki is trying to get back to full guard.
Aoki manages to get to full guard.

Layden tries to free his leg and advance position but Aoki is retaining full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Layden has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Aoki is proving hard to escape from.
Aoki is looking for a triangle but Layden pushes his legs off easily.
Layden would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Aoki looking for a guillotine here but Layden defends easily.

Aoki has a closed guard, preventing Layden from standing up.
Layden has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Aoki to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Layden is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Aoki pulls down on the head and he's put Layden to sleep! This one is all over!
