Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Junior Arruda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Junior Arruda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike West! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! West doesn't manage to clinch there - Arruda circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Arruda. West looks to score with a jab to the body but Arruda is just out of range. West tries to move into range but Arruda moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. West cracks Arruda with a good jab. West looks to land a right hand but Arruda moved out of range. Arruda tries to bum rush West with a series of wild strikes but West uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Arruda scores with a jab to the body. Arruda fakes high and swings low for a body shot but West manages to avoid it. Arruda throws a lazy right hand but West sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. West misses with a two punch combination.

Arruda swats away the attempt to clinch by West. Arruda bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. West wants to control but Arruda postures up. West prevents Arruda from moving into mount. West is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Arruda has just dragged him back down to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. West is trying to control Arruda's posture but Arruda avoids it. You can see the frustration on West's face as Arruda controls the position. West tries to get back to half guard but can't. Arruda taking a breather here. West is looking for a sweep.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. West throws a body punch but Arruda moves out of range. West tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Arruda connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. West gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. West looks gassed! Arruda controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arruda has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if West can do anything to dispel that myth. Arruda is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Arruda sitting in guard here, content to control. Arruda seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down West for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Junior Arruda just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. West shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. West showed some decent athleticism there. Arruda is refusing to be controlled, as West sits in half guard. West slips a nice elbow through Arruda's hands, connecting with Arruda's forehead. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Arruda wants to get back to full guard. Arruda trying to control but West postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arruda taking some punishment here, with West in his half guard. Arruda kicks West off and gets back to his feet. West slips a jab and a cross from Arruda.
West wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Arruda misses with a hook. West ducked under it nicely. West throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Arruda. Arruda looks to score with a jab to the body but West is just out of range. A swing and a miss from Arruda. Arruda feints and as West raises his hands in defense, Arruda changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. West trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Arruda wants to control from the top but West keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

West connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Arruda's hands. West fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Arruda looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. West takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Arruda misses the jab. Arruda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but West avoids it really well and circles away. Arruda throws a series of punches but West avoids them all with ease. Arruda gets cracked with a nice right hand there by West. West connects with a jab. Arruda takes a swing at West's ribcage but misses. Arruda tries to clinch but West is having none of it. Arruda rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but West moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. West uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Arruda. Arruda blocks a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arruda avoids a punch combination nicely.
West gets a clinch. Come on Arruda - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
West tries for a takedown. No joy.
West is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. West tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Arruda just stands there and leans against the cage. West jumps guard but Arruda stands there with West around his waist. West gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Junior Arruda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike West. Arruda drags the fight down to the ground.
West must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. West is looking to stand up but Arruda won't let him. Arruda keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully. Arruda is pulling down on West's head. It's preventing any offense from West, at least for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. West trying to control but Arruda is working from the bottom. Arruda is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Arruda takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Arruda seems content to control. West kicks Arruda off and gets back to his feet. Arruda swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
West takes a shot to the body in his stride.
West throws a jab but it's blocked by Arruda. Arruda lands with a shot to the body. The fighters circling - West throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arruda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around West's waist but West gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Arruda off to one side. Arruda stuffs the takedown attempt from West. West gets slowly back to his feet. West fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Nice defenses there by Arruda. Arruda shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as West sprawls well. West wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Arruda gets slowly back to his feet. West swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Arruda. West uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Arruda.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Arruda swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and West counters with a single leg into guard. Arruda didn't expect that. West trying to control but Arruda is working from the bottom. Arruda is trying to control the position but West postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike West showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!

West stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and West wants it to stay on the feet. Arruda misses with a series of wild punches.

West moves out of range of the strikes. West moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arruda wants to clinch up but West keeps it at a distance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. West shoots in for a double leg but Arruda sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Arruda fails with a takedown attempt. Arruda tries to bum rush West with a series of wild strikes but West uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Arruda loads up on a big right hand but West slips the punch. The fighters circling - West throws out the jab but it was never going to land. West uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Arruda. Arruda misses with a hook. West ducked under it nicely. West goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Arruda tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but West was well out of range. Poor timing from Arruda. Arruda takes the fight into the clinch. Arruda misses with a punch on the inside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Arruda tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. West just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Junior Arruda. That's going to take a lot out of him. West has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Arruda uses from the top position. Arruda trying to control but West is working from the bottom. West seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Arruda won't allow West to get back to his feet. West looking for a sweep. Not yet West, not yet. West is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Arruda controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

and West counters with a left and a right that stings Arruda. West swings for the body but Arruda moves out of range.

West shoots in for a takedown but Arruda shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Arruda drives through with a takedown into guard. Arruda is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Arruda trying to control but West is working from the bottom. West had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Arruda defends it easily. West controls Arruda momentarily but Arruda frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Arruda stays in close to West's body and controls the position. West wants to stand up but Arruda is controlling him. Arruda slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. West looking to hit a scissor sweep but Arruda is one step ahead there.
And that's the end of the fight! Junior Arruda showed his dominance in that final round. I think Arruda has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
