1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Donovan! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donovan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jacques sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Donovan somewhat. Jacques scores a takedown into full mount! Jacques content just to control the position here. Jacques punishing his opponent with strikes. Jacques won't let Donovan get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Jacques controlling from the full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jacques lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Donovan really wants to buck Jacques off and get back to his feet. Jacques controlling his opponent.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Donovan for as long as he can get away with. Donovan wants to stand and escape but Jacques is having none of it.
