The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Core is defended easily by Grove.
Grove scores with a head kick.

It looks like Hard Core has been cut.
Core keeps the fight on the outside.

Core fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Grove sprawls well initially but Core persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Core is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Grove sees it coming and defends easily.
Core thows a huge punch but Grove dodges it nicely.
Core missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Grove really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Core is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Grove wants to get back to his feet.

Core wants to advance to full mount but Grove doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Grove tries to close the distance and clinch but Core swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Grove shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Core tries to roll over but Grove keeps him under control.

Grove is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Core doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Grove.

Grove is sitting in close to Core's body. Core has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Grove is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Grove is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Core.
