Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Steven Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jamal Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Reed's choice of entrance music: Welcome to the jungle. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steven Knight! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamal Reed! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knight throws a solid leg kick but Reed takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Knight. Reed closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Knight to the mat! Knight manages to get full guard. Reed stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Knight swivels though and keeps the full guard. Knight looking to control.
Reed is stalling in the full guard. Reed postures up.
Knight had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Reed is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Knight Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Reed's back instead. Reed can't escape the position.
Knight really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Reed. Knight wants to control but Reed is keeping busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reed is trying to break free.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight not allowing Reed to control his hands. Knight scores with punches and elbows. Reed tries to escape but Knight has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Knight lands an elbow to the side of the head. Reed tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Reed is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Knight postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Reed looks a forlorn figure.
Knight wants to control the pace but Reed is squirming around nicely. Reed is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Reed is trying desperately to improve position. Knight sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Reed really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Knight fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Knight can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reed is looking to escape. Reed is looking to get to half guard. Reed is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Knight trying to control but he's not successful this time. Knight is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reed wants to control but Knight is having none of it. Reed tries to improve his position but instead Knight has taken his back! Knight doesn't have the hooks in and Reed manages to turn into his guard.
Reed works a leg free and moves into half guard. Knight is looking to escape. Reed not landing any meaningful shots this time. Reed looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Knight has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Reed is looking to take a break and control but Knight is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Knight is looking to improve his position.
Reed tries to pass the half guard into mount. Knight knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Reed scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Reed trying to mount his opponent but Knight defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Reed slips a jab and a cross from Knight.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Reed crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Knight - the referee stops the clock and Reed gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Knight. Reed manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Reed looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Knight! Reed wants to finish this one by submission but Knight is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Reed. Reed wants to control the action but instead Knight gets a body lock and reverses into Reed's guard! Nice work! Knight wants to control from the top but Reed keeps moving. Reed has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Knight is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Reed. Knight is looking to take a break and control but Reed is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Reed takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jamal Reed will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Reed shoots in and drives through. Knight sprawls well. Knight pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Reed shoots for a takedown but Knight saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Steven Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Knight throws a looping overhand right but Reed ducks down to avoid it. Reed takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Reed on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Knight. Knight obviously looking to wear him down.
Reed uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Knight.
Knight misses with a takedown so Reed counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Reed thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Reed pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knight is keeping the position for now. Knight throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Knight trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Reed slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Knight is trying to get back to half guard. Reed working the body and head with strikes.
Knight is rocked! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Reed is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Knight knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Oh Knight is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Reed trying to control the position but Knight is working away. Reed is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Knight has escaped the position, nice work there. Knight seems to have got his legs back now. Knight sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knight is in trouble now - Reed has advanced to mount! Reed is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Knight is forced to tap! Great finish!
