Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Arroyo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lucas's choice of entrance music: The Diary of Jane. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Arroyo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lucas wants to control but Arroyo is keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Arroyo wants to free his trapped foot but Lucas is holding on for dear life with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lucas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arroyo keeps working.

Despite being in the dominant position, John Lucas just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arroyo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lucas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

John Lucas is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Arroyo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lucas looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lucas looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lucas!

I think Lucas has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
