Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Loka Shawn!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smith showed some decent athleticism there.
Shawn wants to get back to his feet.
Smith is looking to pass Shawn's guard but actually Shawn recovers to full guard.
Shawn wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it.
Shawn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.
Smith is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Smith keeping moving, preventing Shawn from controlling successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shawn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smith looking for subs off his back but Shawn has passed one foot through into half guard.
Shawn stops Smith from getting back to his feet.
Smith gets back to full guard.
Shawn trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.

Smith is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smith is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Shawn!

Smith moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Shawn has worked his arm free - good work by Shawn!

Shawn sneaks out the side door and pushes Smith away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
A slow jab from Shawn misses its intended target.
Loka Shawn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shawn connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.


It looks like Greg Smith has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shawn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shawn lands with a nice body punch.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Smith checks a leg kick.
Shawn connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Good standup being displayed there by Shawn as he connects with a hook.
Shawn looks to throw the jab but Smith is out of range.
Shawn throws a push kick but Smith slaps the foot to one side.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Shawn shows good takedown defense.
Smith is breathing heavily.
Shawn throws the kick towards the body but Smith avoids it.
Shawn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Greg Smith's cut is getting worse.
Smith shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shawn defends it nicely.
Shawn lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Smith at a distance.
Shawn comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shawn.
Shawn has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Shawn drops Smith with a beautiful combination! Smith stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Shawn is looking for the KO!

Greg Smith's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Shawn drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Shawn waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Smith is rocked!
Loka Shawn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shawn looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shawn doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
Smith seems to have got his legs back now.
Shawn lands a jab to the head.


Jeez, Greg Smith's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shawn.
Smith takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Shawn lands a left and a right that send Smith crashing to the mat, dazed. Shawn thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Greg Smith's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Loka Shawn!
