Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Happy Tom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rudy Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tom might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Turbonegro - Wasted Again. Happy Tom has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Happy Tom! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rudy Fernandez! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tom misses with a body kick. Fernandez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tom's half guard. Tom looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Tom trying to hold on to Fernandez's head to control him but Fernandez postures up.
Fernandez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fernandez wants to work for an arm triangle but Tom is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fernandez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fernandez seems to be working for a kimura but Tom defends the submission attempt. Fernandez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fernandez looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tom keeping hold of Fernandez's head, controlling as best he can. Tom trying to control from the bottom.
Tom is positioning himself well to prevent Fernandez advancing to mount. Fernandez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tom has managed to free his arm - good work. Tom looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tom regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Fernandez.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tom keeping full guard, as Fernandez tries to pass. Tom is controlling Fernandez's posture. Fernandez preventing the sweep. Fernandez passes easily into side control. Nice work. Tom tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Fernandez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Fernandez swings around for an armbar but Tom sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Fernandez's guard. Fernandez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tom stacks Fernandez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tom! Fernandez gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tom takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Tom goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Fernandez is on top in guard.
Tom pulls Fernandez in close to his closed guard and prevents Fernandez from doing any damage or advancing position. Fernandez wants to pass the guard but Tom is keeping the position. Tom wants to stand but Fernandez is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Fernandez throwing strikes but missing. Tom is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tom keeping full guard, as Fernandez tries to pass. Fernandez landing some decent shots from guard. Fernandez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tom is keeping the position for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fernandez is defended easily by Tom. Tom cracks Fernandez with a right hand to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Happy Tom will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Fernandez drops his hands momentarily and Tom needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Fernandez just on the top of the head. Fernandez drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Fernandez - he's done!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Happy Tom!
