Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joh Jah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Conwboy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Conwboy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joh Jah! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Conwboy! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conwboy tries to bum rush Jah with a series of wild strikes but Jah uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Conwboy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Conwboy slips under a jab from Jah. Conwboy takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Conwboy lands with an overhand left. Conwboy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jah defending well as Conwboy loads up on a big left hand. A jab from Conwboy misses. Jah connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Conwboy throws a lazy right hand but Jah sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Conwboy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jah.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jah scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Conwboy doesn't seem bothered though. Conwboy throws a right hand that Jah ducks under and follows up with a left that Jah also avoids with ease. Nice takedown defense from Conwboy. No joy for Jah on that attempt. Jab by Jah. Jah ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Conwboy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jah throws out the jab. Conwboy shoots and misses and Jah counters with a lovely straight right hand! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Conwboy takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jah misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jah misses with a looping left. Nice uppercut there from Jah. Jah clobbers Conwboy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Nice takedown defense from Conwboy. No joy for Jah on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joh Jah. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jah misses with a combination
and Conwboy counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Jah throws a hook but Conwboy avoids it easily. Conwboy steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jah. That one must have hurt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jah avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A telegraphed right hand from Jah misses the target. Jah pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Jah swinging wilding here.
Jah fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Conwboy throws a hook to the side of Jah's head but Jah sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Jah misses with a hook. Conwboy ducked under it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Conwboy scores with a jab to the jaw. A jab from Jah misses. A big right from Conwboy misses. Jah throws a big shot that misses. Joh Jah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jah throws a hook to the side of Conwboy's head but Conwboy sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Conwboy moves out of range of the body kick from Jah.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Conwboy throws a combination that misses and Jah counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Conwboy off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Jah follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Conwboy was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Joh Jah!
