The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De La Hoya lands with a hook. Thiago tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. De La Hoya scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. De La Hoya checks a low kick from Thiago. De La Hoya looks to land a combination. Thiago sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. De La Hoya misses with a double jab.
De La Hoya lands a with a good body shot. Thiago fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A jab from De La Hoya finds it's way through Thiago's defenses. A combination from De La Hoya does no damage. Thiago shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. De La Hoya is trying to defend but Thiago finishes it well and ends up in half guard.
