Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Szakowtski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Szakowtski comes to the cage accompanied by Saliva - Ladies and Gentleman. Damian Maia is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot lands for Szakowtski. Szakowtski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Maia scores with a takedown into Szakowtski's guard. Maia wants to control from the top but Szakowtski keeps moving. Szakowtski wants to stand up but Maia is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maia looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Szakowtski wants to stand but Maia is controlling the position. Maia wants to control from the top but Szakowtski keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maia pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Szakowtski is keeping the position for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Maia takes a body punch but keeps moving. A lazy left from Szakowtski finds it's target. Maia scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Szakowtski managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Maia.
Szakowtski wants to get back to his feet. An elbow from Maia crashes against the mat.
Szakowtski is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Maia tries for a kimura but Szakowtski is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Szakowtski tries to escape but Maia is in control. Maia wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Szakowtski, who protects the arm well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Szakowtski swings for the body but Maia moves out of range.
Szakowtski jabs at Maia's body. Maia looks gassed! Jab by Szakowtski. Szakowtski fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Maia tries for a takedown but Szakowtski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Szakowtski lands a jab to the nose. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Szakowtski scores with a nice head shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia takes a body punch but keeps moving. Szakowtski is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Jab by Szakowtski. A decent looking cross lands there for Szakowtski. Szakowtski lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Szakowtski lands with a nice combination. Maia backs away looking to recover. Szakowtski with a jab. Szakowtski throws a combination. Maia tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Damian Maia has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Szakowtski comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Maia uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Szakowtski. Szakowtski waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Maia. Szakowtski uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Maia has time to react. Maia slips a jab from Szakowtski. Szakowtski scores with a jab. Maia acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Maia takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Szakowtski lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Maia at a distance.
Maia tries to move into range but Szakowtski moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Szakowtski lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Szakowtski scores with a shot to the body.
Maia has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Maia there as he acknowledges the shot. Szakowtski is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Szakowtski takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Szakowtski lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Maia at a distance.
Maia takes one to the side of the head.
Szakowtski works the jab nicely. Maia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Szakowtski finds it's way round the side to connect with Maia's head. Szakowtski tests Maia's chin there with a solid looking shot. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Szakowtski throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Maia stumbling backwards into the cage! Maia bounces back off the cage towards Szakowtski, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Szakowtski lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Szakowtski celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
