Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sosa Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcello Lujan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lujan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lujan throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lujan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Escobar is fighting to break Lujan's control of his arms but Lujan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lujan can do anything to dispel that myth. Escobar stands up from guard. Let's bang! Escobar rushes Lujan and presses him up against the cage. Lujan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Escobar can't fight it off and eventually Lujan manages to take the fight to the floor. Escobar looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Lujan postures up and lands a big shot to Escobar's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lujan trying to control but Escobar is working from the bottom. Lujan throws and elbow that misses. Escobar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lujan's guard. Nice move by Escobar! Escobar stays in close to Lujan's body and controls the position. Lujan working for submissions but it's allowed Escobar to get to half guard.
Escobar decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Lujan blocks the body kick.

Lujan wants to clinch but Escobar slips to the side and Escobar counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Escobar will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Escobar is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lujan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Escobar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Lujan misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Lujan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escobar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lujan trying to mount his opponent but Escobar defends it. It looks like Lujan is going to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lujan throwing shots but Escobar is blocking nicely. Lujan is thwarting Escobar's attempts to control the position. Lujan wants to pass to mount but Escobar is defending the position. Lujan works his way into side control. Lujan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Escobar keeps working. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lujan tries for a takedown but Escobar circles away easily and Escobar counters with a nice body shot. Sosa Escobar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcello Lujan. Lujan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sosa Escobar dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lujan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Escobar's waist but Escobar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lujan off to one side. Lujan doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Escobar tries to clinch but Lujan is having none of it. Escobar jabs Lujan right on the nose. Lujan blinks but takes it well. Lujan wants to clinch. Escobar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lujan's half guard. Escobar trying to pass the guard but Lujan defending well. Lujan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Escobar prevents Lujan from standing back up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escobar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lujan's head. Escobar sitting and controlling from the half guard. Lujan is trying to control but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Escobar is trying to trip Lujan. He has hold of a leg but Lujan is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Escobar persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Lujan throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Escobar escapes and throws Lujan's legs to the side, diving into side control! Escobar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lujan, who protects the arm well. Lujan can't do much from the bottom here. Lujan is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Escobar decides to stand back up. Escobar steps back and let's Lujan get back to his feet. Lujan shoots in for a takedown but Escobar shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lujan with a poor takedown and Escobar counters with a series of strikes. Escobar moves out of range of the body kick from Lujan.

Escobar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Lujan has gone for a leg lock! Escobar slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lujan's guard. Lujan wants to get back to his feet but Escobar is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Escobar looking to pass the guard. Lujan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Sosa Escobar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Escobar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lujan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lujan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lujan throws a big right hand that misses. Escobar keeping moving, preventing Lujan from controlling successfully. Lujan wants to pass the guard but Escobar is keeping the position. Escobar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lujan defends it nicely. Sosa Escobar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lujan closes the distance looking to clinch and Escobar counters with a left to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Escobar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Lujan forces Escobar back against the cage and clinches. Lujan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Escobar walks away with a smile on his face. Lujan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Escobar slaps away a takedown attempt from Lujan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Escobar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Escobar lands in his opponent's guard. Lujan is trying to control the position but Escobar postures up. Lujan wants to stand up but Escobar is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lujan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Escobar is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lujan. Lujan tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Escobar controlling from mount. Lujan is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Marcello Lujan. Well Escobar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
