Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Valdez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, epic fighter!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
fighter tries to clinch but Valdez is having none of it.
Valdez shoots in looking for a takedown. fighter tries to sprawl out of it but Valdez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. fighter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
fighter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Valdez.
fighter misses with a jab, cross combination.

fighter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Valdez trying to land knees to the body.
fighter wants a takedown but no success here.
Valdez goes for a takedown attempt but fighter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Valdez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Valdez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Valdez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Valdez stands and throws fighter's legs to the side, diving into side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Valdez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by fighter, who protects the arm well.
fighter manages to work his way to half guard, despite Valdez's best efforts.
fighter wants to get back to his feet.
fighter won't allow Valdez to pass to mount.
Valdez tries to stand but his hand is stuck under fighter.

fighter pushes Valdez off looking to stand but Valdez dives back in and keeps control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Valdez shoots in looking for a takedown. fighter tries to sprawl out of it but Valdez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. fighter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

so Valdez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
fighter is looking to stand up but Valdez isn't so interested in that idea.
Valdez wants to control from the top but fighter keeps moving.

fighter wants to stand but Valdez is controlling the position.

fighter uses the cage to get back to his feet.
fighter tries to bum rush Valdez with a series of wild strikes but Valdez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
fighter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Valdez darts in and clinches fighter up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bobby Valdez will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


fighter looks to land a body kick but Valdez moved away.
fighter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Valdez.

Valdez has closed the distance and engaged fighter in a clinch.
Valdez tries to pull guard but fighter won't allow it.
fighter is trying to break the clinch but Valdez is controlling him.
Valdez prevents fighter from breaking the clinch.
Valdez lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Valdez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Valdez prevents a takedown attempt there.
A short left from Valdez.
Valdez crunches a lovely knee into fighter's ribcage.

Valdez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
fighter throws a lazy body kick

and Valdez counters with a shoot takedown. fighter fights it but they end up in guard.
Valdez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
fighter keeping moving, preventing Valdez from controlling successfully.

Valdez is looking to work some ground and pound but fighter has wrist control.

Valdez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Valdez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Valdez wants to pass the guard but fighter is keeping the position.
fighter pulls Valdez in close to prevent any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Valdez won't allow fighter to sweep him here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
fighter tries for a takedown but Valdez circles away easily

and Valdez counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Valdez seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. fighter is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
