Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Swishel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida comes into the arena with bleed it out blaring out of the sound system. Swishel has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. Pete Swishel acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lyoto Machida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Pete Swishel! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swishel moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Swishel stuffs the takedown attempt from Machida. Machida gets slowly back to his feet. Swishel thows a body shot but no joy. Swishel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Machida looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Machida manages to get back to half guard. Swishel is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Machida has managed to free his arm - good work. Machida wants to get back to full guard. Machida flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Machida is looking to improve his position.
Swishel is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swishel prevents Machida from improving his position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Machida is pressing down on Swishel's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Swishel's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Machida looking for a guillotine here but Swishel defends easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Swishel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Swishel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Machida keeping moving, preventing Swishel from controlling successfully. Swishel passes easily into side control. Nice work. Swishel cracks Machida with a big elbow. Swishel creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Swishel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Machida, who protects the arm well. Swishel looks gassed! Machida manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Swishel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Machida lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Swishel is trying to get back to full guard. Machida is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Machida is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Swishel doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Machida. Machida seems to be working for a kimura but Swishel defends the submission attempt. Swishel gets full guard. Swishel working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Machida doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Machida manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Swishel keeping full guard, as Machida tries to pass.

Machida drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Machida jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Swishel doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Machida tries to free his leg and advance position but Swishel is retaining full guard. Swishel lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Machida! Swishel looking to secure an arm triangle but Machida defends it well. Machida is trying to escape the mount.
Swishel wants to finish this one by submission but Machida is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Swishel. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pete Swishel dominated that round. That's time! Machida's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Swishel tries to clinch but Machida moves out of range. Swishel has his takedown stuffed and Machida counters with a flying knee. Nice. Swishel fails to land with a series of punches.
Machida shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Swishel's guard. Machida looking to pass the guard. Swishel throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Swishel throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Machida is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Swishel looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Swishel is breathing heavily.

Machida postures up in Swishel's guard and throws a big left but Swishel blocks it. Swishel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Machida avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Machida drops back looking for a leg! Swishel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Swishel manages to kick Machida off! Machida jumps back into Swishel's guard. Machida passes Swishel's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Machida is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Swishel is looking to control Machida's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Swishel avoid being mounted? Swishel is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Machida pulls his head out easily. Machida is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Swishel looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Swishel won't allow Machida to pass to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swishel gets full guard. Pete Swishel has got the better of the ground game so far. Swishel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Machida wants to improve his position but Swishel is controlling well.
Swishel is trying to control the action in half guard but Machida is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Machida looking for submissions off his back. Machida postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Swishel scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
Swishel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Machida gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Machida is working Swishel over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Swishel is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Machida is aware though and is defending well. Machida looking to pass the guard. Machida got a little sloppy there for a moment and Swishel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Machida has managed to get both his arms back between Swishel's legs - danger averted. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Swishel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Machida can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Swishel has his foot on Machida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Machida works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pete Swishel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Machida buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Swishel closes the distance but Machida moves to the side and Machida counters by clinching up. Machida tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Swishel misses with a body punch.
Machida's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Pete Swishel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Swishel wants to clinch and Machida counters with a thumping low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swishel lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Machida lands the left hand. Machida tries to score a power double leg takedown but Swishel sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Machida somewhat. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Swishel closes the distance but Machida moves to the side and Machida counters with a left and a right that stings Swishel.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swishel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Swishel misses with a wild combination.
Machida looks for a takedown but Swishel sprawls well. Swishel wants to clinch but Machida slips to the side and Machida counters with a nice double leg into side control. Swishel won't be happy with that. Machida is trying to get an arm triangle but Swishel is defending well. Machida tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Machida has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Swishel regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Swishel makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Swishel. Machida wants to pass the guard but Swishel is keeping the position. Swishel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Machida defends it easily. Machida is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Swishel looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Machida is defending well. Swishel quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Machida has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Swishel celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
