The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shirley plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Lay Praynard has been cut.
Shirley turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
No joy there for Shirley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Shirley lands a left and a right that send Praynard crashing to the mat, dazed. Shirley thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Praynard seems to have got his legs back now.

Shirley looks to land a combination but Praynard avoids it well.

Lay Praynard's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Shirley lands with a big left! Praynard is wobbled badly! Shirley comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Praynard to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
