1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, MR J! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! J looks for a takedown but Moreira sprawls well. Moreira shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Moreira is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Moreira seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down J for as long as he can get away with. J looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Moreira takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Moreira postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for J to stand up. J takes a shot right to the bread basket. Moreira closes the distance and lands a one-two. J gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Moreira to score an easy takedown into full guard. Moreira is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Moreira is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Moreira wants to control from the top but J keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Moreira stands up and waves to J to follow him. J takes one on the chin but seems OK.
That has opened up MR J's cut even more. Moreira clinches up with J and pushes him back against the cage. Moreira lands a right hand. J fails to pull the fight into his guard.

J wants to control from the top but Moreira keeps moving. Moreira pushes J off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Moreira looks to land a combination. J sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Moreira lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Moreira. Moreira ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. J darts in trying to clinch and Moreira scores with a counter punch that sends J to the canvas! Moreira smells blood - he's punishing J with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! J has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
