The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
john just misses with a punch to the body.
Elliot closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
john taking a bit of punishment here - Elliot scoring with strikes.
It looks like john john has been cut.
Elliot grinds an elbow into john's temple.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Elliot has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
john is looking to regain half guard here but Elliot keeps moving and retains side control.
Elliot has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Elliot shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. john manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Elliot will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
john wants to sweep but no luck.
Elliot gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
john has his takedown stuffed
and Elliot counters with a one-two to the body.
