Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Bentley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bentley comes to the cage accompanied by Prodigy - Boxcutters feat. Big Twin. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Bentley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Johnson! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries to clinch but Bentley moves out of range. Bentley fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bentley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes. Johnson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bentley. Johnson tries to clinch there but Bentley circles away.
Bentley fails miserably with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Bentley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bentley misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bentley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bentley is breathing heavily. Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Johnson darts in and clinches Bentley up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bentley avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Johnson tries for a takedown but Bentley manages to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bentley tries to pull guard but Johnson won't allow it.

Johnson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bentley is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard. Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bentley's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bentley is keeping the position for now. Johnson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Bentley had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Johnson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bentley Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Johnson's back instead. Johnson breaks Bentley's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Bentley looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bentley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bentley is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bentley pulls Johnson in close to his closed guard and prevents Johnson from doing any damage or advancing position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bentley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Johnson manages to get himself to full guard.
Bentley won't allow Johnson to sweep him here. Bentley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bentley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Bentley looking to pass the guard. Bentley throwing strikes but missing. Bentley pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Johnson is not content to let Bentley control the position. Johnson wants to get back to full guard. Bentley is working for a submission of some sort.

Bentley avoids the attempt from Johnson to control. Johnson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bentley takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bentley trying to control but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson reaches up to try and control the position but Bentley seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Johnson rolls and tries to escape and now Bentley has his back!

Johnson kicks Bentley off and gets back to his feet. Bentley shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense. Johnson tries to clinch there but Bentley circles away.
Bentley takes the fight into the clinch. Johnson is working for takedown but Bentley is calmly controlling the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
