PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Caschera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Hazwan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hazwan has chosen Wolfpack Attack as his entrance music. Max Caschera has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Caschera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Hazwan!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caschera throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Caschera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hazwan's waist but Hazwan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Caschera off to one side.

Caschera darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hazwan is pressing down on Caschera's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Caschera drops back looking for a leg! Hazwan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hazwan manages to kick Caschera off! Caschera jumps back into Hazwan's guard.

Caschera wants to stand but Hazwan has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Caschera is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hazwan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Caschera has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Caschera and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Caschera has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hazwan is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Caschera.

Hazwan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caschera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hazwan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Caschera is just riding it out for now. Hazwan eventually gives up the hold.

Caschera had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hazwan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Caschera Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hazwan's back instead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
