Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oscar De La Hoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Pipkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vincent Pipkin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oscar De La Hoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincent Pipkin!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Pipkin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pipkin tries a head kick but it misses.
De La Hoya throws a series of punches but Pipkin avoids them all with ease.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pipkin.
Pipkin trying to control the action but De La Hoya is working from the bottom.
Pipkin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Pipkin is trying to get an arm triangle but De La Hoya is defending well.
De La Hoya is trying to escape the position but Pipkin is controlling the position.

De La Hoya is not content to let Pipkin control the position.
Pipkin tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De La Hoya seems a little lost for a moment, as Pipkin dominates the positioning.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pipkin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pipkin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pipkin is looking to take a break and control but De La Hoya is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
De La Hoya on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if De La Hoya tries to get out of the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Vincent Pipkin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

De La Hoya throws a series of punches but Pipkin moves out of range.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
De La Hoya stalks Pipkin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pipkin's face. Pipkin staggers backwards, shaken.
De La Hoya will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
De La Hoya leaves Pipkin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pipkin misses with a kick to the body.
Pipkin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pipkin stuffs the takedown attempt from De La Hoya. De La Hoya gets slowly back to his feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


De La Hoya keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Pipkin fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
De La Hoya displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pipkin.
De La Hoya looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

De La Hoya is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Pipkin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but De La Hoya pulls him back up using the underhooks.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

De La Hoya is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pipkin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip De La Hoya to the mat. De La Hoya regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

De La Hoya might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pipkin tries to free his leg and advance position but De La Hoya is retaining full guard.
Pipkin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Pipkin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? De La Hoya is fending him off so far but Pipkin persists. Nope, De La Hoya circles away and we're back to standing.

Pipkin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De La Hoya swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vincent Pipkin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pipkin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
