Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Glenn Elomaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Rockfist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Glenn Elomaa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Rockfist!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Elomaa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rockfist, pushing him back against the cage.

Elomaa has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Rockfist uses from the top position.

Rockfist has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Elomaa is proving hard to escape from.

Elomaa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rockfist gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Elomaa throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Elomaa looking for a sweep. Not yet Elomaa, not yet.

Elomaa working for a triangle but Rockfist defends it easily.
Rockfist wants to stand but Elomaa is controlling his posture from full guard.

Elomaa wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Elomaa is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Rockfist fails to pull guard.

Elomaa gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Rockfist tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Elomaa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Elomaa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Rockfist is trying to maintain the position but Elomaa is very close to passing his half guard.
Elomaa perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rockfist on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Rockfist regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Elomaa.

Elomaa pushes down on Rockfist's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Rockfist is breathing heavily.
Elomaa slips a nice elbow through Rockfist's hands, connecting with Rockfist's forehead.

Elomaa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rockfist sees it coming and defends easily.

Elomaa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Elomaa slows the pace down in half guard.

Elomaa is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Elomaa is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rockfist has managed to free his arm - good work.
Elomaa working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Elomaa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Crunch! Elomaa slams his shin into Rockfist's torso.

Elomaa scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Elomaa has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Rockfist takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Elomaa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rockfist for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Glenn Elomaa just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Elomaa feints and as Rockfist raises his hands in defense, Elomaa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Elomaa slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Glenn Elomaa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Elomaa is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Elomaa controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Jake Rockfist has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Elomaa stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Elomaa closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rockfist did well to prevent Elomaa getting side control.
Elomaa lands with a punch from half guard.

Elomaa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rockfist defends it well.
Elomaa content to control rather than advance.

And that's the end of the fight!
Glenn Elomaa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Elomaa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
