Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Uri Petrenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uri Petrenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Nelson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Petrenko's legs.

Nelson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nelson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Petrenko has one of Nelson's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Nelson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Petrenko is trying to improve his position.

Nelson stands up.
Nelson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Nelson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Petrenko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Petrenko lands in his opponent's guard.
Petrenko connects with a couple of short punches.

Nelson has his foot on Petrenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Petrenko works his way back into a safe position though.
Nelson wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Petrenko tries to stand but Nelson is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nelson seems keen to control Petrenko's posture.
Petrenko throwing strikes from guard but Nelson blocks nicely.
Petrenko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nelson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Nelson is trying to keep Petrenko in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nelson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Nelson throws a one two combo.
Petrenko doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Nelson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Petrenko takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Nelson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Petrenko's hands.
Nelson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Nelson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Nelson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Nelson scores with a nice strike.
Nelson scores with a sloppy right hand. Petrenko should have avoided that one.

Nelson gets a takedown into half guard.
Petrenko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Nelson wants to pass the guard but Petrenko is keeping the position.

Petrenko has his foot on Nelson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nelson works his way back into a safe position though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nelson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Petrenko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nelson throws a right hand that Petrenko ducks under and follows up with a left that Petrenko also avoids with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jimmy Nelson dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Nelson scores with a takedown into Petrenko's guard.
Nelson trying to control the position from guard on top but Petrenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nelson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Petrenko's guard.
Nelson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Petrenko knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Petrenko is looking to control Nelson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Petrenko avoid being mounted?

Nelson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Nelson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Nelson is looking to advance position but Petrenko won't allow it.
Nelson is looking to take a break and control but Petrenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A punch combination from Nelson misses.

and Nelson counters with a right hand to the body.
Petrenko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Nelson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Petrenko takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Nelson scores with a three punch combo!
Nelson scores with a jab to the head.

Nelson works over Petrenko's head and body with a nice combination.
A jab lands there for Nelson.
Nelson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Petrenko. Petrenko circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Jimmy Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Nelson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Petrenko did well to prevent Nelson getting side control.

Nelson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Petrenko is just riding it out for now. Nelson eventually gives up the hold.
Nelson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Petrenko!

Nelson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Nelson works his way to his opponent's back.

Nelson is working for a rear naked choke. Petrenko is not defending it well and Nelson has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Petrenko refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Petrenko's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jimmy Nelson!
