Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Buscemi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Diccico! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buscemi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Buscemi keeps the fight on the outside. Buscemi lands a really nice looking cross but Diccico seems unphased.

Buscemi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Diccico manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Buscemi has Diccico in his guard. Buscemi throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buscemi throws his legs up looking for a submission but Diccico uses it to pass to side control.
Buscemi is looking for a sweep. Diccico has control of an arm but Buscemi manages to advance to Diccico's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Buscemi avoiding Diccico 's attempts to control his hands. Diccico is in bad spot here.
Diccico is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Buscemi is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Diccico trying to control the position from guard on top but Buscemi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Buscemi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Diccico defends well. Diccico avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Buscemi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Buscemi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Diccico is defending against the submission attempts here by Buscemi.
