Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wally Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Cote (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes into the arena with Safety Dance by Men Without Hats blaring out of the sound system. Wally Williams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wally Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Cote! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Cote. Cote scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Cote checks a leg kick. Cote tries to keep at a distance but Williams has taken the fight into the clinch. Cote scores with a shoulder strike. Cote avoids a wild elbow strike from Williams. Cote fails to pull guard.

Williams misses with an elbow over the top. Cote swings wildly with an uppercut but Williams uses good head movement to avoid it. Cote blocks the elbow strike.
A frustrated look appears on Cote's face as he tries to break the clinch. Williams is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Cote is defending well for now. Cote takes an elbow to the forehead. Cote tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Williams smiles and moves away.

It looks like Wally Williams has been cut. Cote throws a right hand that Williams ducks under and follows up with a left that Williams also avoids with ease. Williams misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wally Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams is looking to clinch but Cote is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams ducks under a wild hook from Cote. Williams throws a combination that misses enabling Cote to counter with a crisp jab. Williams throws a head kick that misses. Williams bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Cote looks gassed! A combination from Cote does no damage. Williams wants to clinch. Cote will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Williams tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Williams misses with a series of wild punches.

Those have got to be taking their toll on Williams's gas tank. Cote gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Williams is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Williams not landing any meaningful shots this time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cote moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Williams finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Richard Cote seems to be getting the better of the standup. Williams scores with a spinning back kick! Williams lands a nice leg kick that just misses Cote's sensitive parts. Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Cote circles away.

Richard Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Wally Williams's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Williams throws a right and a left that Cote avoids nicely. Cote fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Williams manages to avoid it. Williams darts in trying to clinch and Cote cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cote crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Williams - the referee stops the clock and Cote gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Williams. Cote manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Williams tries to land a front kick but Cote steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Williams misses with a leg kick. Williams lands a nice looking kick to the body. Cote takes a step back to recover. Williams feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cote's calf. Cote throws a looping overhand right but Williams ducks down to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Williams.
