Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Monkey King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathias Djuric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Mathias Djuric has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Monkey King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mathias Djuric!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Djuric plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
King looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Djuric tries to clinch up but King circles away and keeps his distance.

Djuric drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Djuric wants to pass the guard but King is keeping the position.
Djuric is in close to King's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Djuric must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
King keeping moving, preventing Djuric from controlling successfully.
Djuric stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. King swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Djuric pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. King is keeping the position for now.
Djuric really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

King is working an open guard so Djuric takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Djuric closes the distance and clinches up with King, looking for a takedown. Djuric pushes King against the cage but King circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
King takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Djuric shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Djuric finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Djuric tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

King takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Djuric tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Djuric is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Djuric shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Djuric was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
King is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Djuric goes for an armbar but he's not got it… King turns into him and now he's in Djuric's guard.
King throws a big right hand that misses.

Djuric is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Djuric wants to control but King is keeping him busy.

Djuric tries to pass to full mount but King defends it.
King looks like he's trying to stand up.
King wants to get back to full guard.
Djuric is trying to control the action in half guard but King is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Djuric throws a right and a left that both miss.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Djuric is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Djuric looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Djuric clinches with his opponent.
Djuric is trying to work for a single leg takedown but King pulls him back up using the underhooks.
King blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
King is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Djuric escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Djuric fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mathias Djuric showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


King pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Djuric has a takedown stuffed.

Djuric moves into the clinch.

Djuric gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
King looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Djuric lands a nice short elbow.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
King is refusing to be controlled, as Djuric sits in half guard.

Djuric tries to stand and escape but King is controlling the position.
Djuric is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Djuric trying to control but King is working from the bottom.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Djuric tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.

King closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

King is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Djuric has escaped the position, nice work there.
Djuric is trying to control King's posture but King avoids it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Djuric is pushing King's head away, looking to escape. King manages to hold on to the position though.

King scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Djuric to see if he's OK.
Djuric is not content to let King control the position.

Monkey King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Djuric has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
