Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hudson Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ribeiro as he avoids it easily.
Victor Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hughes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ribeiro.
Hughes shoots in but no luck this time.
Ribeiro throws a sloppy head kick and Hughes moves out of range easily.

and Hughes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ribeiro wants to control but Hughes is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hughes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ribeiro is proving hard to escape from.

Ribeiro drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hughes drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ribeiro pulls his leg out and moves away.

Ribeiro jumps guard but Hughes stands there with Ribeiro around his waist. Ribeiro gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ribeiro has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hughes uses from the top position.

Ribeiro has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hughes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ribeiro gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ribeiro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hughes defends it easily.
Hughes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Ribeiro is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ribeiro wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hughes is now in half guard.
Hughes seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Ribeiro kicks off Hughes and gets to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ribeiro shoots for a takedown but Hughes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hughes closes the distance and clinches.

Hughes drags the fight down to the ground.
Ribeiro wants to control from the top but Hughes keeps moving.

Hughes is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ribeiro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Ribeiro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hughes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ribeiro wants to clinch but Hughes slips to the side

and Hughes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Hughes wants to pass the guard but Ribeiro is defending well.

Hughes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ribeiro is just riding it out for now. Hughes eventually gives up the hold.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Ribeiro gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hughes counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hudson Hughes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hughes postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ribeiro is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hughes, into his guard.

Hughes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ribeiro on the ground.

Ribeiro drops back looking for a leg! Hughes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hughes manages to kick Ribeiro off! Ribeiro jumps back into Hughes's guard.

Hughes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ribeiro.

Hughes is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ribeiro has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hughes is looking to defend but Ribeiro has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hughes! Ribeiro pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hughes taps out and this one is all over!
