Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark MacLeod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JF Houle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Houle has chosen Devine as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. JF Houle struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from MacLeod.
Houle takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Houle lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
MacLeod throws a series of punches but Houle moves out of range.
MacLeod throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Houle.
Houle throws a lazy right hand but MacLeod sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Houle tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
MacLeod thows a body shot but no joy.
Houle misses with a double jab.
MacLeod ducks right into an uppercut from Houle.

Houle throws a nice looking combination but MacLeod bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

MacLeod lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Houle circles away quickly and effectively.
Mark MacLeod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Houle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
MacLeod throws a right and a left that both miss.
Houle shoots in and bounces MacLeod off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Houle stands and throws MacLeod's legs to the side, diving into side control.
MacLeod seems a little lost for a moment, as Houle dominates the positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

MacLeod is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Houle pulls his head out easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

MacLeod moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Houle. That snapped MacLeod's head back.

and Houle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Houle closes this distance looking for a takedown but MacLeod circles away.
Some bone on bone action there as Houle checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
MacLeod misses with a two punch combination.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Houle is defended easily by MacLeod.
Houle swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and MacLeod counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Houle connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

and Houle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

This has been an exciting period of action!
MacLeod pulls Houle in close to prevent any damage.
MacLeod is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Houle is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Houle tries to free his leg and advance position but MacLeod is retaining full guard.
MacLeod wants to stand and escape but Houle is having none of it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
MacLeod swinging wilding here.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts MacLeod, as that shot connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but JF Houle will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Houle throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Houle counters with a nice double leg into side control. MacLeod won't be happy with that.

MacLeod pushes Houle away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Houle gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

MacLeod wants to control but Houle is keeping busy.

Houle tries to pass to full mount but MacLeod defends it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
MacLeod looks to land a combination but Houle avoids it well.
MacLeod blocks a head kick by Houle.
MacLeod throws a combination that misses
and Houle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Houle throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as MacLeod works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
MacLeod wants to get back to his feet but Houle is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Houle drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Houle as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! MacLeod screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Houle! Nice submission victory there!
