Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvaro Gracielo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alvaro Gracielo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracielo gets a takedown into half guard.

Gracielo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Smith is trying to stand up here but Gracielo is controlling him well.
Smith trying to control but Gracielo postures up.
Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracielo on the ground.

Gracielo is working for a kimura but Smith is defending it quite comfortably.

Gracielo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Smith sees it coming and defends easily.

Smith looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Smith wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith punching from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith wants to control but Gracielo is keeping busy.
Smith is looking for a sweep. Gracielo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Smith works his way to full guard. Good work.

Gracielo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Smith wants to sweep but no luck.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gracielo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Gracielo looks gassed!
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracielo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gracielo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracielo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gracielo is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Smith.


It looks like Alvaro Gracielo has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracielo tries for a takedown but Smith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Smith looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Gracielo!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith working for a guillotine from mount but Gracielo is in no mood to give up.
Gracielo working to try and regain half guard.
Smith wants to control the pace but Gracielo is squirming around nicely.

Smith is going olschool here, as he tries to force Gracielo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gracielo shrugs it off.
Gracielo can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracielo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Smith is looking to stand but Smith has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Smith working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Gracielo tries to reverse the position but Smith maintains control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Smith tries to control but Gracielo wriggling away.
Smith raining down shots from the mount!
Gracielo is trying desperately to improve position.
Smith can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gracielo is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracielo is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Smith dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Alvaro Gracielo's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gracielo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Smith off and has taken his back!

Gracielo looking to break Smith's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Smith remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Gracielo will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Smith is trying to get back to his feet but Gracielo has full control of the position and if anything, Smith has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Smith trying to control the hands but Gracielo won't let him.
Smith looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Smith tries to roll but Gracielo sticks to his back.

Gracielo is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Smith with him. Smith is trying to defend but Gracielo has an arm under the chin now! Smith grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Alvaro Gracielo!
