Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Hoyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoyle comes to the cage accompanied by Yo Gotti - Women lie, men lie instrumental . Charlie Day is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steven Hoyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Day! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoyle closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hoyle lands in his opponent's guard. Day keeping full guard, as Hoyle tries to pass. Hoyle prevents Day from getting back to his feet. Hoyle pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Day is keeping the position for now. Hoyle controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Hoyle won't allow Day to get back to his feet. Day throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Day would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Hoyle wants to sweep here but Day controlling him for the moment. Day defends it easily. Day wants to get up but he can't break Hoyle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Hoyle is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hoyle controlling the position. Day stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hoyle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoyle stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Day to get to his feet. Hoyle feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Day's calf. Hoyle shoots in for a takedown but Day shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Hoyle is looking to clinch but Day is avoiding it.

Hoyle displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Hoyle tries to score a power double leg takedown but Day sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hoyle somewhat. Hoyle closes the distance and clinches up with Day, looking for a takedown. Hoyle pushes Day against the cage but Day circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoyle with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Day has hold of Hoyle's hands but Hoyle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Hoyle takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Day tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hoyle has advanced to mount. Uh oh. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoyle landing shots from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoyle cracks Day with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hoyle content just to control the position here. Hoyle pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoyle lands a heavy elbow. Hoyle tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hoyle seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Day for as long as he can get away with.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Steven Hoyle just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Hoyle is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Day's half guard. Steven Hoyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hoyle not doing much here.

Steven Hoyle dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Hoyle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hoyle gets to his feet - Day follows without any prompting. Hoyle scores a takedown into full mount! Day is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Day is trying desperately to improve position. Hoyle fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Hoyle postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Day looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hoyle content just to control the position here. Hoyle wants to control the pace but Day is squirming around nicely. Hoyle avoids the attempt from Day to control. Hoyle putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Hoyle scores with a couple of good head shots there.
