The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lakovic was well out of range. Poor timing from Diaz.

and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lakovic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diaz swivels and escapes.

Diaz tries to bum rush Lakovic with a series of wild strikes but Lakovic uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lakovic goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Lakovic throws a leg kick which misses Diaz's front leg but catches the back leg as Diaz tries to avoid it.

Ricardo Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lakovic uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Diaz.
Diaz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Diaz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lakovic tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Diaz lands with a nice combination. Lakovic backs away looking to recover.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Good leg kick by Lakovic there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Lakovic shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Diaz is trying to defend but Lakovic finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lakovic is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lakovic is nestled in close to Diaz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Lakovic seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Diaz is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
