Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Speedos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikko Hantunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ken Speedos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Hantunen! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick from Hantunen misses. Speedos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hantunen misses with a few strikes there.
Hantunen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hantunen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Hantunen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Speedos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hantunen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A bone on bone clash there as Speedos blocks the leg kick.
Speedos steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hantunen. Speedos looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hantunen! Hantunen holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Speedos tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Speedos is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hantunen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hantunen! Speedos working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hantunen. Hantunen distracts Speedos with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hantunen trying to control the position from guard on top but Speedos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Speedos tries to land a sweep but no joy. Speedos looking for a guillotine here but Hantunen defends easily.
Speedos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hantunen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hantunen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Speedos keeping moving, preventing Hantunen from controlling successfully. Hantunen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Speedos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hantunen defends it easily. Hantunen throws a strike but Speedos rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hantunen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Speedos trying to control the position from guard on top but Hantunen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Speedos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hantunen dives on top into guard. Hantunen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Speedos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hantunen has managed to get both his arms back between Speedos's legs - danger averted. Speedos is breathing heavily. Speedos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hantunen defends it easily. Hantunen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Speedos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hantunen is one step ahead there. Hantunen trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Speedos manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Speedos controlling from the top position. Speedos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hantunen dives on top into guard. Hantunen trying to control but Speedos is working from the bottom. Speedos has momentary wrist control but Hantunen slips an elbow through the middle. Hantunen trying to control but Speedos is working from the bottom. Hantunen distracts Speedos with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hantunen trying to control the position from guard on top but Speedos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hantunen landing with the ground and pound. Speedos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Speedos controls Hantunen momentarily but Hantunen frees himself. Hantunen cracks Speedos with a solid left hand. Hantunen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Speedos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hantunen has managed to get both his arms back between Speedos's legs - danger averted. Hantunen trying to control the position from guard on top but Speedos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hantunen controls from within his opponent's guard. Hantunen stands up over Speedos, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mikko Hantunen dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hantunen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hantunen missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Speedos is trying to control but can't.
Speedos is staying active underneath Hantunen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Speedos is pressing down on Hantunen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hantunen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Speedos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hantunen has managed to get both his arms back between Speedos's legs - danger averted. Speedos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hantunen lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Speedos sprawling to the canvas. Hantunen follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Speedos hang on?
Speedos is rocked!
It looks like Ken Speedos has been cut. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hantunen lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Speedos! More strikes land and this one is all over! Hantunen jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
