Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Willington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Paul might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Til I Collapse by Eminem. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Paul! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darren Willington! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paul shoots in and bounces Willington off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Paul won't allow Willington to sweep him here. Paul's corner is telling him to maintain position. Willington keeping moving, preventing Paul from controlling successfully. Paul tries to free his leg and advance position but Willington is retaining full guard. Paul preventing the sweep. Willington is controlling Paul's posture. Paul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Willington swivels though and keeps the full guard. Paul trying to control the position from guard on top but Willington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Willington throws a head kick but Paul moves out of range.
Willington avoids the head kick by Paul.
Willington throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Willington tries a head kick but it misses.
Willington has closed the distance and engaged Paul in a clinch.
Paul fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Paul pulls guard successfully.
Willington is fighting to break Paul's control of his arms but Paul is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Paul escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Willington gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Willington drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Paul manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Willington has Paul in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paul looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paul is looking to work some ground and pound but Willington has wrist control. Paul wants to control from the top but Willington keeps moving. Paul throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paul works a leg free and moves into half guard. Willington regains full guard. Nicely done. Paul trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Paul tries to stand but Willington is controlling from the bottom. Paul is breathing heavily. Paul stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Willington swivels though and keeps the full guard. Willington trying to keep a closed guard but Paul is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Paul looking to pass the guard. Paul postures up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Paul scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paul throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Willington manages to work his way to half guard, despite Paul's best efforts. Willington manages to get to full guard.
Willington pulls Paul in to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Paul is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Paul shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Willington's guard. Paul won't allow Willington to sweep him here. Paul is looking to work some ground and pound but Willington has wrist control. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Paul here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Willington looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Paul looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

John Paul dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Willington throws a leg kick which misses Paul's front leg but catches the back leg as Paul tries to avoid it. Paul avoids the head kick by Willington.
Paul throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Willington's waist but Willington gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Paul off to one side. Willington throws a head kick that misses. Paul lands a nice looking body shot.
Paul has taken the fight to the clinch.
Willington trying to stall but Paul improves his position.
Paul is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Willington is defending well for now. Paul stalling against the cage.

Paul tries to pull guard but Willington holds him up against the cage and eventually Paul drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Paul. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Willington trying to control the position but instead, Paul has worked for underhooks and has pushed Willington into the cage. Paul tries to pull guard but Willington holds him up against the cage and eventually Paul drops back down to his feet.
Paul tries to circle away but Willington has him pinned against the cage. Willington being controlled against the cage. Paul is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Paul jumps guard but Willington stands there with Paul around his waist. Paul gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Willington keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Paul's efforts to push away. Paul is trying to trip Willington. He has hold of a leg but Willington is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Paul persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Paul stopping the sweep attempt from Willington. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Willington holds on and takes a little breather. Paul trying to control the position from guard on top but Willington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paul being controlled here momentarily. Willington wants to sweep but no luck. Paul trying to control but Willington is working from the bottom. Willington has a closed guard, preventing Paul from standing up. Paul is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Willington looking for a sweep. Not yet Willington, not yet. Darren Willington has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Willington pulls Paul in close to prevent any damage. Willington can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Paul controls the pace. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that's the end of the fight! John Paul showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Paul, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
