Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tadeu Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tadeu Fernandez! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fernandez shoots in for a takedown but Williams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Fernandez shoots for a takedown but Williams saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jason Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tadeu Fernandez. Williams with a poor takedown and Fernandez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Williams's guard now. Williams wants to sweep here but Fernandez controlling him for the moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fernandez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Fernandez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fernandez wants to get back to his feet but Williams is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Fernandez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Williams's guard. Fernandez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Williams pulls Fernandez in close to prevent any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Williams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fernandez works a leg free and moves into half guard. Fernandez wants to take a breather but Williams is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams tries to get to full guard but Fernandez has control of the leg. Williams really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Fernandez is looking for a kimura but Williams is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fernandez to get the leverage. Williams trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Fernandez thowing shots but they're missing. Fernandez stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Williams drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams scores a takedown into full mount! Williams has hold of Fernandez's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Fernandez manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Williams tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Williams avoids the attempt from Fernandez to control.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jason Williams just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Williams fails with the takedown and Fernandez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Williams won't be happy with that.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jason Williams. I think Williams has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
