The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ho scores with a shot to the body.
Simm shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ho manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Ho trying to control the position.
Simm throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Simm forces his way into half guard. Simm works his way into side control. Ho tries to bench press Simm off him but Simm keeps the position. The strikes coming from Simm are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Ho is trying to control Simm's posture but Simm avoids it. Ho is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ho wants to get back to his feet. Ho is not content to let Simm control the position. Ho is looking to regain half guard here but Simm keeps moving and retains side control. Simm advances to mount. Ho wants to hold on but Simm pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Simm can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ho is looking to escape. Ho tries to reverse the position but Simm maintains control. Ho is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Simm trying to control but he's not successful this time. Ho tries to hold on but Simm postures up. Ho really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Simm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Simm prevents Ho from getting the reversal. Simm looking to control but Ho is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Ho defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Simm. Simm is breathing heavily. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Simm controlling from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ho is trying to escape the mount.
Simm can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ho is looking to escape. Simm content just to control the position here. Simm avoids the attempt from Ho to control. Simm moves to back control. You can see the frustration on Ho's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Ho is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Simm off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Simm trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Simm has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Ho! Can he survive? No! He's out! Simm gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
