Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nigel Winters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, carl jordan! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! jordan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A combination from Winters does no damage. jordan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. jordan scores with a hook. Winters throws a series of punches but jordan avoids them all with ease. Nigel Winters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. jordan misses with a head kick.
Winters throws a left and a right that both miss
and jordan counters with a lovely straight right hand! Winters keeps the fight on the outside. Winters shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Winters showed some decent athleticism there. Winters is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. jordan wants to get back to full guard. jordan wants to control but Winters is keeping busy and won't allow it. jordan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Winters. jordan wants to improve his position but Winters is controlling well.
Winters thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed jordan's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Winters thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing jordan to regain full guard. jordan tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Winters thows a leg kick but jordan checks it and jordan counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. jordan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Winters is proving hard to escape from. jordan looks gassed! Winters is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst jordan is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. jordan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Winters keeping moving, preventing jordan from controlling successfully. The fight stays on the outside here - Winters looks like he's thinking about clinching though. jordan tries to close the distance and clinch but Winters swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Winters throws a nice looking combination but jordan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. jordan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Winters defends it nicely. Winters throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and jordan counters with a head kick. That will keep Winters thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! jordan moves out of range of the body kick. jordan keeps the fight on the outside. Winters shoots in for a double leg but jordan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. jordan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Winters but Winters pushes him off and we're back to square one. jordan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Winters sneaks back into half guard. jordan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Winters's head. jordan is thwarting Winters's attempts to control the position.

Winters is trying to stand up here but jordan is controlling him well. Winters keeps control of the position for the meantime. jordan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Winters does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. jordan prevents Winters from improving his position. jordan wants to control but Winters is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. jordan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Some wild striking there from Winters.
Winters moves in looking to clinch but jordan pushes him off. jordan takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Winters scores with a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round. jordan closes the distance but Winters moves to the side and Winters counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in jordan's guard now. Nigel Winters overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. jordan tries to strike from the bottom.

Winters fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! carl jordan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well jordan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
