Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Madden Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Madden Rush! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Martin! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin blocks a head kick by Rush.
Rush swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Martin misses with a few strikes there.
Rush fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Martin sprawls well initially but Rush persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Martin gets back to full guard.
Rush trying to control but Martin is working from the bottom. Martin wants to sweep here but Rush controlling him for the moment. Rush pushes down on Martin's leg and manages to get into half guard. Rush seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Rush thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Martin's head. Martin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Rush is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martin is just riding it out for now. Rush eventually gives up the hold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Martin sees it coming and defends easily. Martin actively working from the bottom here. Martin trying to hold on to Rush's head to control him but Rush postures up.
Martin won't allow Rush to pass to mount.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Rush closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Martin did well to prevent Rush getting side control. Martin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Martin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rush gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rush connects with a couple of short punches. Rush lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rush throwing strikes but missing. Martin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Martin keeping full guard, as Rush tries to pass. Rush is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Rush trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rush defends well. Martin wants to control the position but Rush says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Martin is not content to let Rush control the position. Martin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rush. Rush is trying to work for a kimura but Martin is defending well.
Martin tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rush has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Martin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Martin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Martin gives up his back whilst trying to strike.
Martin tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Martin is desperately trying to improve his position but Rush has a good base and remains in mount. Rush moves to the back. Rush looking for the RNC. Martin is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rush gets his way!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Madden Rush dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Good standup being displayed there by Rush as he connects with a hook. Martin throws a looping overhand right but Rush ducks down to avoid it. Madden Rush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Martin looks to land a combination but Rush avoids it well. Martin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Rush shoots for a takedown but Martin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Martin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Martin scores with the left hand. Rush knows he should have avoided that one. Rush shoots in looking for a takedown. Martin tries to sprawl out of it but Rush keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Martin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rush misses with a looping right. A head kick misses from Rush.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin throws a series of punches but Rush moves out of range. Rush falls off balance throwing a combination
and Martin counters with a single leg into guard. Rush didn't expect that. Martin throws and elbow that misses. Rush uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Martin's guard. Nice move by Rush! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rush accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rush trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rush tries to free his leg and advance position but Martin is retaining full guard. Rush trying to control but Martin is working from the bottom. Rush pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Martin is keeping the position for now. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Martin looking for a sweep. Not yet Martin, not yet. Rush tries to free his leg and advance position but Martin is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A big left from Rush misses. Martin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Martin. Martin wants to land a leg kick but Rush is out of range. Martin throws a head kick but Rush moves out of range.

and Rush connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Rush avoids the head kick by Martin.
Rush scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. This has been an exciting period of action! Martin is looking to regain half guard here but Rush keeps moving and retains side control. Martin manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Martin works his way into full mount! Martin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin looking to finish Rush with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rush! Martin throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martin with a couple of short strikes. Martin landing punches. Martin scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Rush?
Rush is bucking up trying to escape but Martin cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The referee warns Rush that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rush bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Rush postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Mike Martin has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rush postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Martin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rush, into his guard. Martin is looking to work some ground and pound but Rush has wrist control. Martin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Martin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Martin passes Rush's left leg - he's now in half guard. Martin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Martin lands a nice short elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Martin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rush misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Martin.
Rush has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rush there as he acknowledges the shot. Rush misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rush swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Martin counters with a three punch combo that has Rush backing up. Rush nods at Martin to acknowledge the strikes. Martin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rush. Mike Martin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rush looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Rush walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Martin checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Rush tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Rush showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Martin.
Rush closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Martin manages to get back to half guard. Martin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Martin is looking for a triangle but Rush pushes his legs off easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rush is posturing up here but Martin has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Rush tries to roll out but it's too tight and Rush has to tap! Slick submission there by Martin!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mike Martin! Mike Martin retains his lightweight title!
