Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bono Ravino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hill kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Darude - Sandstorm. Bono Ravino has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Dan Hill's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bono Ravino!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ravino tries for a takedown but Hill sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by Ravino or perhaps it was just good defense by Hill which made him look bad.
Hill will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ravino shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hill napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ravino tries to score with some ground and pound. Hill controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Ravino misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Ravino tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Ravino working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Ravino postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ravino circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ravino doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Hill counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hill.
Dan Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bono Ravino.
Ravino looks gassed!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hill lands an elbow just above Ravino 's eye.

Ravino jumps guard but Hill stands there with Ravino around his waist. Ravino gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

It looks like Bono Ravino has been cut.

Hill bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hill decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ravino to his feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Ravino is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hill pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Hill breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hill feints and as Ravino raises his hands in defense, Hill changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ravino has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hill decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ravino, up you get!

Hill moves into the clinch.
Hill stalling the fight.
Ravino can't break the clinch.
Ravino jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hill walks away with a smile on his face. Ravino gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hill closes the distance and pushes Ravino back into the cage.
Ravino tries to pull guard but Hill holds him up against the cage and eventually Ravino drops back down to his feet.
Hill lands an elbow that stopped Ravino in his tracks for a moment.

Hill breaks the clinch.

Hill drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hill stands up from Ravino's guard - Hill perhaps looking for a knockout.

Hill scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ravino tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hill wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Ravino is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hill is looking to take a break and control but Ravino is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hill looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Ravino is not content to let Hill control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hill throws an elbow but Ravino slips to the side and avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Hill dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Bono Ravino's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hill creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Ravino's defenses.

Ravino stands up from guard. Let's bang!

and Hill counters with a nice body shot.

Hill looking to control but Ravino is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Hill unloads with some shots from mount but Ravino bucks and avoids them well.
Hill prevents Ravino from getting the reversal.

Ravino is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hill throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Ravino wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hill.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Ravino shoots in for a takedown but Hill shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Ravino throws a half hearted mid kick.

and Hill moves into the clinch.
Hill goes for a takedown attempt but Ravino pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hill looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ravino is fending him off so far but Hill persists. Nope, Ravino circles away and we're back to standing.

Hill gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Ravino drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hill pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ravino throws a half hearted mid kick.
Nice takedown defense from Hill. No joy for Ravino on that attempt.
Dan Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bono Ravino.

Hill lands a damaging elbow.
Ravino wants a takedown but no success here.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Hill.

Ravino is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hill is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ravino to the mat. Ravino regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Dan Hill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ravino will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Ravino is looking for a triangle but Hill pushes his legs off easily.

Hill closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ravino to the mat! Ravino manages to get full guard.

Hill is really struggling to control Ravino but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Hill shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ravino's guard.
Hill sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ravino's guard.
Bono Ravino has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hill stands up out of the half guard.
Hill looks to land a combination. Ravino sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Ravino keeps the fight on the outside.
Hill ducks under a wild hook from Ravino.
Hill displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ravino.

Hill rushes Ravino and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hill manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Ravino looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Ravino throws a hook to the side of Hill's head but Hill sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Well Hill has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
