Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Troy Smit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Balboa's choice of entrance music: The Eye of the Tiger. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Troy Smit! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa lands with a cross.
It looks like Troy Smit has been cut. Rocky Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Balboa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smit rushes Balboa and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Smit fails to pull guard.
Smit tries for a takedown but Balboa manages to get underhooks.
Smit breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy Smit. That's going to take a lot out of him. Balboa tries to break the clinch but Smit is controlling the position. Balboa is trying to trip Smit. He has hold of a leg but Smit is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Balboa persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Smit is trying to control the position but Balboa postures up. Balboa advances position into side control! Smit is trying to get back to half guard. Smit pushes Balboa away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Balboa gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Smit tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Balboa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Balboa stands up and beckons Smit to his feet. Balboa clinches up with Smit and pushes him back against the cage. Balboa gets underhooks to prevent Smit's takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Balboa throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Balboa lands a nice elbow. Balboa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Balboa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Balboa wants it to stay on the feet. Smit is breathing heavily. Smit wants to clinch up but Balboa keeps it at a distance. Smit swinging wilding here.
Balboa throws a right hand that Smit ducks under and follows up with a left that Smit also avoids with ease. Balboa stuffs the takedown attempt from Smit. Smit gets slowly back to his feet. Balboa misses with a jab, cross combination.
Balboa dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Balboa closes the distance and lands a one-two. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Balboa closes the distance looking to clinch and Smit counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balboa manages to pull guard.
Balboa wriggles free and stands up. Balboa closes the distance and clinches. Balboa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Balboa throws a right and a left that both miss. Balboa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smit, pushing him back against the cage. Balboa stalling.
Balboa pulls guard effortlessly. Balboa is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smit won't allow Balboa to get back to his feet. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Balboa pulls Smit in to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Balboa dominated that round. The cut man is working on Troy Smit's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Balboa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Smit is trying to force a seperation but Balboa has the dominant position. Balboa gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Smit.

Smit shoots in but no luck this time. Smit dodges the punch combination from Balboa.
Smit has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy Smit. That's going to take a lot out of him. Balboa throws a shot to the body.
Balboa throws the kick towards the body but Smit avoids it. Balboa throws a head kick that misses. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Balboa throws a series of strikes that have Smit backpedaling.
Balboa scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Balboa misses. Balboa fails in his attempt to clinch. Balboa swats away the attempt to clinch by Smit. Balboa throws a good cross that connects.
Balboa pushes Smit up against the cage in a clinch. Balboa tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Smit avoids it. Smit has Balboa pressed against the cage, preventing Balboa from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Balboa has had enough of the clinch but Smit keeps him there for the moment. Smit jumps into guard, dragging Balboa to the mat.
Balboa stands and throws Smit's legs to the side, diving into side control. Balboa decides to stand back up. Balboa steps back and let's Smit get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smit tries to clinch up but Balboa circles away and keeps his distance. Smit will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Smit takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Balboa drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Balboa looking to pass the guard. Balboa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Balboa tries to stand but Smit is controlling from the bottom. Smit is looking for a triangle but Balboa pushes his legs off easily.
Balboa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smit has a closed guard, preventing Balboa from standing up. Smit wants to get back to his feet but Balboa is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Balboa stays in close to Smit's body and controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Smit looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Balboa sitting in guard here, content to control. Balboa tries to free his leg and advance position but Smit is retaining full guard. Smit is working an open guard so Balboa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Smit with a lazy takedown attempt and Balboa counters by moving into the clinch. Smit tries to score a body lock takedown but Balboa shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Smit's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Smit keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Balboa's efforts to push away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Balboa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Troy Smit's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Balboa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Balboa tries to close the distance and clinch but Smit swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Balboa is looking to clinch but Smit is avoiding it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Balboa looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Horrible takedown by Smit or perhaps it was just good defense by Balboa which made him look bad. Smit showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Balboa.
Balboa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smit moves out of range and avoids them all easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Smit shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Balboa but Balboa pushes him off and we're back to square one. Smit with a lazy takedown attempt and Balboa counters with a takedown into side control. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Troy Smit. That's going to take a lot out of him. Balboa scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Smit to see if he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa working the head with strikes. Balboa decides to stand up, so the ref orders Smit to his feet. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Smit checks a leg kick. Smit scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Balboa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Balboa throws a sloppy head kick and Smit moves out of range easily. Balboa has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Smit fails with the takedown and Balboa counters with a takedown into side control. Smit is looking for a sweep. Balboa stands up. Smit changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Balboa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balboa manages to get back to half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Balboa can do anything to dispel that myth. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Balboa is looking for a sweep. Smit is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Rocky Balboa has got the better of the ground game so far. Balboa is trying to stand.
Balboa preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Balboa wants to improve his position but Smit is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Balboa manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Smit trying to control but Balboa is working from the bottom. Balboa throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Balboa throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Balboa controlling Smit's posture. Balboa isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Smit stacks Balboa on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Smit!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Balboa manages to get back to half guard. Smit is trying to control the action in half guard but Balboa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Balboa wants to get back to full guard. Balboa keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Rocky Balboa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Balboa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
