Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Stevenson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Travis Wood! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Stevenson. Stevenson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Stevenson throws a head kick but Wood moves out of range.
Wood tries to close the distance and clinch but Stevenson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Wood drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Wood is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Stevenson wants to sweep here but Wood controlling him for the moment. Stevenson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wood wants to control from the top but Stevenson keeps moving. Wood chips away with some ground and pound. Stevenson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Stevenson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wood can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stevenson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wood on the ground. Wood trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevenson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wood passes Stevenson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Wood tries to pass to full mount but Stevenson defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood passes the guard and advances to mount! Stevenson has given up his back.
Wood connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Stevenson to escape the position.
Stevenson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wood gets his way!
Stevenson tries to escape but Wood has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Stevenson is trying to defend against the choke here but Wood has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Wood Tightens the hold and Stevenson taps out furiously! Wood displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Travis Wood!
