The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robinson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ward throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ward lands a big head kick that sends Robinson tumbling to the mat! Ward takes a step backwards and waves Robinson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Max Robinson has been cut.

Ward shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Robinson as he avoids it easily.

Ward lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Robinson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ward's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Robinson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ward sees it coming and defends easily.
Ward tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Ward has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Robinson uses his free foot to push down on Ward's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ward.

Ward is bucking up trying to escape but Robinson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Robinson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Ward is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
