Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Gerz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Riot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Gerz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Riot! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riot fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Gerz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Riot tries to avoid it but Gerz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Riot to the ground. Riot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gerz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Gerz stands up out of the half guard. Gerz clinches with his opponent.

Riot trying to control the position from guard on top but Gerz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gerz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Riot is controlling him. Gerz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Riot is one step ahead there. Riot is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Riot wants to control from the top but Gerz keeps moving. That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Riot accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Gerz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gerz fails with the takedown and Riot counters with a two punch combo. Gerz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Gerz is trying to work for a kimura but Riot is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gerz seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Gerz. Gerz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. A nice elbow there by Gerz. Gerz scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Riot?
Gerz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Riot regains half guard. Riot is trying to stand back up but Gerz is controlling him
The fighters are battling for position here. Riot manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gerz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Riot.
Gerz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Riot swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Gerz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Riot fails with the takedown and Gerz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Riot won't be happy with that. Gerz cracks Riot with a big elbow. Riot tries to escape but Gerz is in control. Gerz cracks Riot with a big right hand but Riot just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

It looks like Max Riot has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Gerz in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Riot is still in real trouble! Can Gerz finish him? Gerz decides to stand back up. Gerz gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Gerz lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Gerz lands strikes from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gerz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Riot! Riot seems to have recovered his senses. Gerz in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Gerz dominated that round. The cut man is working on Max Riot's cut. That's time! Gerz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gerz shoots in but no luck this time. Riot darts in trying to clinch and Gerz counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Riot! Riot keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Riot is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gerz working Riot over with strikes here. Nick Gerz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Riot is desperately trying to improve his position but Gerz has a good base and remains in mount. Riot regains half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Riot is looking to control Gerz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Riot avoid being mounted?
That's one minute gone in the round. Riot moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Gerz with a nice head shot there. Riot has momentary wrist control but Gerz slips an elbow through the middle. Riot keeping full guard, as Gerz tries to pass. Riot has a closed guard, preventing Gerz from standing up. Gerz works over Riot with some ground and pound from guard. Gerz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Gerz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. BOOM! Gerz connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Riot is in all sorts of trouble here.

The cut above Max Riot's eye is starting to cause him problems now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Riot wants to get back to his feet.

Riot is desperately trying to improve his position but Gerz has a good base and remains in mount. Riot regains half guard. Gerz trying to pass the guard but Riot defending well. Riot wants to get back to his feet. Gerz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Riot can do to turn this around? Gerz slips a nice elbow through Riot's hands, connecting with Riot's forehead. Gerz is tying to control. Riot wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gerz wants to stand but Riot has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Gerz lands with a punch from half guard.
Max Riot's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Max Riot's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Nick Gerz!
